ufo

We’ll tell you one secret: Most of the UFOs and aliens comming to the earth are made by humans. Elvis is an exception. The latest unidentified flying objects are manufactured by mobiBLU and actually can’t fly. But they surely can rock, blink and vibrate to simulate motion. In fact this is MP3 player with built-in speaker and Bluetooth connectivity with support of ASF, MP3, OGG and WMA formats and can play them 15 hours through headphones or 5 hours on speakers. There will be versions from 512 MB to 8 GB and two different color schemes (black and red). Sadly there is no pricing yet and no word for smaller, portable version.

kodak-c180

From the begging of the year we’ve saw many many digital cameras (mainly from Panasonic), but Kodak C180 is the cheapest. This doesn’t mean it offers poor functions. The specs are quite good actually - 10.2-megapixel sensor, 2.4-inc display, 3x optical zoom and support of face detection, blur reduction, image editing on-the-go (crop, rotate and text-tag) and max ISO 1250. Video capturing is also possible with easy upload onto YouTube. All this for $120. Sounds sweet.

Mouse LB-F1500W

At the end of January Mouse Computers is going to release its new netbook, the LB-F1500W. Spec wise it has prety much what you’d expect from such a device including a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor, 1 GB of ram, 160 GB hard drive  a 10,2 inch screen and Windows XP. If you are thinking that it is just another netbook, well …. you are wrong. The LB-F1500W also has a DVD burner, which is quite rare for these cheap portables, but there is a reason. Having an internal optical drive translates into a bigger and more expensive product whose battery life may be lower. It’s time to tell you how much it will cost, so are you ready? The Mouse LB-F1500W will retail for 64,800 yen which is around $729.

If you’re going on safari trip you’ll need good, small, low weight camera with low noise sensor… rifle and great amount of luck if the lion came close. Well, we don’t know anything about rifles, but Leica M8 looks like good choice for camera. The limited edition called M8.2 Safari Edition is in camouflage color and features 10.3-megapixel sensor and LEICA ELMARIT-M 28 mm f/2.8 ASPH. lens. There will be only 500 units and the price of each is… oh, $14,000 (more than 2 original M8s).

panasonic_new

On the 16th January we’ve written about four new digital cameras from Panasonic. Now, only 11 days later, there are 5 more… Seems like Panasonic are flooding the market with similar devices. At least DMC-FT1 is something different - shock, water and dustproof 12-megapixel cam with 28-128 mm optically stabilized 4.6x zoom Leica lens. It can shoot 720p HD video in AVCHD Lite format and will have a price around $526. TZ7 can do the same, but is not rugged and have 12x optically stabilized zoom, 3-inch LCD and comes for $566. TZ6 is weaker version of TZ7 and respectively cheaper - $434.

FX550 is even cheaper ($395), but have manual exposure settings, 3-inch LCD touchscreen with haptic feedback and 5x zoom. FX40 is smaller variant with 2.5-inch screen and no manual features. Check the gallery for pictures.

The end of IE’s hegemony in Windows is near?

ffvsieEuropean Union agency may force Mircosoft to start including other browsers in their products. Imagine the next Windows coming with Firefox or Chrome straight out-of-the-box and even an user who have never saw them can give them a try. Now, imagine that many uninformed users tried other browsers and find that they are more stable and friendly. This will be fatal for Internet Explorer’s market share. It keeps the high position because it’s bundled to every new PC. Maybe this will transform IE from standart to just another browser.

You’ve got 12-digit password on your Wi-Fi router, but your neighbors keep breaking it? Well, you just need to repaint your house… with the new paint developed in University of Tokyo. It consists aluminium-iron oxide that blocks radio frequencies up to four times beyond existing anti-RF technologies.
